Olivia Baldassare

Physiotherapist

MPT, BSc

Olivia is an energetic and compassionate practitioner who brings a fresh set of eyes to athletics and Physiotherapy. She has gained a diverse set of experiences through her Master’s in Physiotherapy at UBC and her Honors Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology Co-op with a minor in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Waterloo, Ontario. With a passion for ongoing learning, Olivia has received her Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Level 1 certification and taken the Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization A course.

Her love for working with athletes began as a youth triathlon coach when she was in highschool. This passion grew throughout her undergraduate degree where she gained practical experience as a student athletic trainer. Her co-op placements diversified her experience by touching on a number of fields such as kinesiology, biomechanics in rehabilitation, exercise performance physiology and injury prevention biomechanics research.

Olivia has a special interest in young developing athletes and those recovering from lower body injuries. She provides an individualized approach to support clients reach their goals and provide them with tools to maintain their health.

As an athlete herself, Olivia has always understood the importance of the role of a physiotherapist in the life of an athlete. She first started competing at the age of 8 years old in alpine ski racing and triathlon. Now, outside of the clinic you can find Olivia adventuring or training for an upcoming race. During her university years she competed on the Waterloo varsity cross country team and the UBC triathlon team. In September 2023, she represented Team Canada at the World Age-Group Championships in Ponetevdra Spain.
