Melissa Dahn

Kinesiologist

Melissa has been a practicing kinesiologist since 2016. She has a membership with British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) and is a Certified Strength and conditioning Coach with the NSCA. She graduated from both Douglas College and Simon Fraser University with a Sport Science Diploma, a Certificate in Health and Fitness, and a Bachelor of Science with a major in kinesiology. She grew up playing soccer her whole life and continues to play competitive women’s soccer. It was the love of soccer that peaked her interest in pursuing sports sciences as a career. After tearing her ACL and meniscus playing soccer, she grew an appreciation for rehabilitation and decided to steer towards injury rehabilitation and return to sport.

Melissa has training in orthopedic assessment, soft tissue release, advanced exercise prescription, shoulder and hip mobilization, myofascial release, concussion management, and kinesiology taping. She specializes in ACL pre- and post-op rehabilitation and return to sport.

Melissa also has experience as a sports trainer for men’s premier league soccer teams and men’s lacrosse teams. She is an advocate for an active and healthy lifestyle – she engages in sports such as soccer, tennis, cycling, snowboarding, hiking, kayaking, running, and weight training. She has volunteered at high-level sport conditioning facilities and seeks to enhance her knowledge about injury management and rehabilitation.
